Wildlife artist and Maine Master Naturalist Michael Boardman is known for his field sketching and watercolors of creatures and wild lands. He is practiced in sketching from life, and using these drawings to inform his studio work, Michael has built his connection to art and science through artist residencies throughout Maine and Alaska, including Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park and Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve in Southeast Alaska. Most recently he spent time in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge studying and sketching the variety of birds that use the coastal plain to raise young, and using these images and his stories to advocate for that endangered landscape.
